Project Overview

Showing up on Google doesn’t happen by accident, it takes the right technical foundation and well-optimized content working together. I worked as an SEO specialist for Glow Beauty Store, a WooCommerce beauty store, for a period of six months. The goal was simple: fix what was holding the site back from ranking and set it up for long-term organic growth. The results were visible within the first 28 days.

Objectives

The primary objectives for this project were:

Identify and resolve all technical errors that were preventing Google from properly crawling and indexing the site.

Approach

  • On-Page SEO Optimization

Optimized product and category pages with targeted keywords, well-written metadata, and a clear internal linking structure. Every page was set up to tell Google exactly what it was about and who it was for.

  • Technical SEO Setup

Installed and configured Rank Math SEO for site-wide optimization. Set up XML sitemaps and robots.txt, resolved all crawl errors, and integrated the site with Google Search Console for ongoing performance tracking and indexing.

  • Site Performance Improvement

Improved site speed, mobile responsiveness, and overall usability. A faster, more mobile-friendly site keeps visitors on the page longer and sends a positive signal to Google.

  • Security and URL Structure

Enforced HTTPS redirection with SSL to ensure secure transactions across the store. Configured SEO-friendly permalinks and clean URL structures so every page was easy for both Google and visitors to navigate.

  • Ahrefs Site Audit

Ran a full technical audit using Ahrefs to identify every issue affecting the site’s health. By the end of the project, the site achieved a 99% technical health score, meaning almost every SEO issue had been found and fixed.

Results

  • 1,300 Organic Impressions in 28 Days: Within the first 28 days of optimization, the site recorded 1,300 organic impressions on Google, a 43% increase showing the site was getting in front of more people faster.
  • 18 Organic Clicks in 28 Days: The site recorded 18 organic clicks in the first 28 days, a 33% increase, showing that real people were finding and visiting the store through Google search.
  • 50% Increase in Homepage Clicks: The homepage alone recorded a 50% increase in clicks within the first 28 days, showing that the optimization work was driving more relevant traffic to the store’s main page.
  • 90% Improvement in Indexation Rate: Resolving crawl errors and setting up proper sitemaps and robots.txt improved the site’s indexation rate by 90%, meaning Google could now find, read, and index the site’s pages properly.
  • 20% Reduction in Bounce Rate: Improving site speed, mobile usability, and responsiveness reduced the bounce rate by 20%, keeping visitors on the site longer and improving overall user engagement..
  • 99% Technical Health Score: The Ahrefs Site Audit confirmed a 99% technical health score by the end of the project, one of the strongest indicators that the site’s SEO foundation was clean, solid, and built for long-term growth.
  • Results Beyond 28 Days: The improvements made during this project continued to deliver results well beyond the first 28 days. With a strong technical foundation, optimized pages, and Google Search Console set up for ongoing tracking, the site was positioned to keep growing in organic visibility and traffic over time.
